Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) Pulse properties of passively mode-locked fiber laser can greatly be affected by the dispersion, nonlinearity, and properties of the saturable absorber (SA). When the cavity is sufficiently short, pulses pass the SA before spread by the selfphase modulation and dispersion in fiber, therefore it is expected that the pulse is not affected by fiber dispersion and nonlinearity. We numerically investigate the temporal and spectral change of optical pulses in short cavity mode-locked fiber lasers based on Nonlinear Schrodinger equation. We found that the short cavity length has more impact by modulation depth of saturable absorption than by fiber dispersion and nonlinearity.
