Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) We present the idea of regions of interest applied to the state of the art protocol for multicast traffic in ad hoc networks: ODMRP (On Demand Multicast Routing Protocol). We look for a simple, yet effective way to improve one of the less optimized parts of odmrp, that is, the lack of control on the control packets flooding all over the network when trying to establish forwarding paths. A region of interest it's a zone of the network that contains nodes that show interest for the data packets that a source sends. So our objective it's to avoid control packet flooding all over the network when just one zone of the network it's willing to accept data packets. Our approach achieves similar (or slightly better) Packet Delivery Ratio (PDR) to ODMRP, but in the control packet flooding control is where we can see a real improvement.
