Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) Continuous growth of the communication traffic needs higher capacity and highly-efficient networks. In order to meet such demands, ITU-T G694.1 recommends the flexible frequency grid enabling flexible signal frequencies and bandwidths in contrast to the fixed frequency grid. In a network node, an optical channel monitor (OCM) has functions of detecting signal down and feedback for equalizing signal power. On the flexible grid network, the OCM needs to detect such flexible signal frequencies and bandwidths, which have been difficult to resolve by a conventional OCM so far. In this report, we propose a simple monitoring method which has a certain level of calculation accuracy for the flexible grid network. We also discuss the relation between the frequency resolution of the monitor and the accuracy. A case study shows that 4-subcarrier Nyquist spectral signal with 32GHz bandwidth can be measured within the accuracy of 0.25dB even when frequency detuning is taken into account.
