An Operational Method of Tabular Forms Considering Semantic Structures

Abstract(in English) In the existing application software for tabular forms, operations considering structure of relationships among cells (it is called "semantic structure") relied on a lot of human-power. It is difficult to operate huge amount of information efficiently and properly with its conventional method. Therefore, in this paper, in order to solve the problem, the operation method of the computer aid for editing tabular forms safely and effeciently is being developed. The operation method guarantees keeping the semantic structure of a tabular form under the editing process. First, the grammar for expressing the semantic structure rules of a tabular form is developed. It is called "semantic structure descriptive grammar". Second, the model based on a graph which can express a semantic structure as the expression method of a tabular form is developed. It is called "semantic structure expression graph". Finally, the operation algorithms of the tabular form based on this model and a prototype system as an implementation of these algorithms are developed.
