Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) In recent years, there has been a growing interest in a form of systems for sharing resources, which were originally used for personal purposes by individual users, among an unspecified number of users over a network. An example of such systems is a P2P data storage system that enables users to share a portion of unused area of their personal storage devices among them. In a recent paper on P2P data storage system, supply and demand functions of users are defined as functions that depend only on a unit price of storage area in a virtual marketplace. However, it was assumed that the impact of other factors on the characteristics of supply and demand functions can be ignored. Therefore, in this paper, we model supply and demand functions of users realistically by taking into account the utilization status of storage devices of users as well as the price structure of storage devices in a real marketplace. Moreover, we numerically evaluate the averaged characteristics of P2P data storage system based on the modified supply and demand functions.
