Proposal of Virtual Machine Placement Management Method considering System Redundancy

Abstract(in English) Recently as the study of network virtualization progresses in the Standardization Group such as ETSI NFV(Network Function Virtualization), System Management with Server Virtualization, which enable to reduce the number of physical server by unifying multiple systems within virtual servers (VM) on each physical server, attracts attention. On the other hand, systems which are on the target of virtualization include those consisting of active and standby application, and switches standby application to act application quickly at the time of trouble. However, existing methods of VM placement management do not consider system redundancy, and are difficult to guarantee system availability and improve VM aggregation efficiency. Therefore in this paper, we propose a method of VM placement management, which guarantees system availability and improves use efficiency of resource and reduces the scale of VM configuration change with the trouble, by considering the difference of the kind of act and standby system. And in evaluation, we prove that our proposal achieves reduction of physical server and simulatenously minimize the VM configuration change with the trouble.
