Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) By spreading various kinds of wireless networks, it is becoming popular for a mobile terminal to switch its interfaces or to use multi-homed networks. Mobile communications in this situation requires any IP mobility supported function in the mobile terminal. However, to install the IP mobility function in each terminal is difficult at present. In this paper, we describe the development of a support router to provide the IP mobility function to non-IP mobility terminals. The support routers in this system provide IP mobility functions by combination of two techniques. One is MAT as IP mobility architecture and the other is NAT as IP address mapping for private terminals. We also mention the application of this system to live migration of virtual machines over wide area networks.
