Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) Recently, a P2P video content delivery service (P2PTV) has attracted attention for increasing video traffic. P2PTV applications receive the video data from peers around the world. For this problem, we have proposed the P2P-DISTO (P2P delay insertion scheme for traffic optimization). However, current P2P-DISTO inserts additional delay to all the packets and may therefore degrade the video quality. In this paper, we propose a new method to insert additional delay only to the control packets of P2PTV applications from other domains. We evaluate the efficiency of traffic localization and video quality in using the proposed method. The results indicate that video quality is improved compared to the conventional method. In addition, more users can accept to insert more additional delay.
