Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) Conventional power monitoring method need a source connected to the input end and a detector at the output end. We demonstrate on-site power monitoring technique for multi-core fiber splicing. A source and a detecoter are located at the fiber side, instead of the input and output end of the fiber. Light is coupled to the fiber using side coupling technique. The transmitted light pass through the splice point is detected at the fiber side by measuring the side radiation power induced by bending.
