Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) In order to realize an efficient operation for rearranging optical access lines, we have studied optical line switching technique without service interruption. This optical line switching method is achieved by means of optical lines duplication using the developed system that consists of the measurement part to evaluate the propagation time difference between the two optical paths and the delay alignment part to adjust it. To cut off the interference noise by optical lines duplication, the wavelength interval is set for the signals through two optical paths, while that makes a difference in the group velocity between the signals, resulting in the group delay difference. Here we show the impact of the group delay difference between two optical paths on the optical lines duplication, and discuss its calibration.
