Abstract(in English) IEEE1888, which is an equipment management protocol, is becomes widely used in Energy Management Systems (EMS) which enable visualization of power consumption and energy-saving control. On the other hand, an access control method in the EMS using IEEE1888 is becoming standardized as IEEE1888.1 and IEEE1888.3. Though the access control method has a merit that it is easy to implement as it uses the same communication interface as used for normal data transmission specified in IEEE1888, it also has a problem that the communication overhead for the access control becomes greatly enlarged when the size of EMS is large. Therefore, we propose a new access control method using another communication interface specified in IEEE1888 in the paper. An evaluation experiment shows that the proposed method reduces the communication overhead six times from its original size.
