Abstract(in English) It is necessary to calibrate uplink channel state information (CSI) estimated for transmit beamforming in frequency domain on multiuser multiple-input multiple-output (MIMO) orthogonal frequency division multiplexing (OFDM) systems with implicit feedback (IFB). Calibration coefficients, by which uplink CSI is multiplied in the calibration, have some frequency correlation, because they depend on circuitry responses. In this paper, we propose subcarrier smoothing calibration, a scheme in which calibration coefficients are smoothed in frequency domain, to improve calibration accuracy. In order to evaluate the effect of the proposed scheme for practical circuitry responses, we measure frequency responses of actual, commercial radio frequency (RF) transceiver circuits, and employ them for computer simulations. Simulation results show that the proposed scheme improves signal to interference plus noise power ratio (SINR) compared with a conventional calibration scheme without the smoothing.
