Wireless Power Transfer via Microwaves with Microwave Tube Technologies

Abstract(in English) Wireless power transfer (WPT) technologies are recently considered as one of promising and game changing technologies. A microwave power transfer (MPT) technologies have been developed from 1960s as a long distance WPT. A distance between a transmitter and a receiver is theoretically extended with higher frequency. Efficiency of the transmitter and the receiver technically decrease with higher frequency. Microwave technologies were developed in 1960s and the MPT were developed in 1960s with the developed microwave technologies. Especially, microwave tube technologies advanced the MPT. In this paper, I review the microwave tube technologies as a transmitter and a receiver in the MPT and show future perspective of the MPT.
