Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) RF signals such as millimeter-wave have wideband characteristics like an optical fiber. By utilizing wideband property, RF signals such as cellular and WiFi can be transferred to a remote place with original frequency and format. In this research, we propose a new network infrastructure with high flexibility to RF signals. The proposed system integrates Radio on Radio technology, which digitalized RF signals are capsulated into high frequency RF signals, and Radio on Fiber technology, which RF signals are converted into optical intensity-modulated signal. In this paper, we will discuss on performance and reliability of proposed system through a link design and demonstrate a digitalized transmission of regional WiMAX signal and evaluate performance of a transmitted signal.
