Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) Peer-to-peer video streaming (P2PTV) services can distribute the delivery load to user peers without using particular video servers. P2PTV applications have thus attracted much attention and will be getting more and more popular. However, since P2P is subject to receive data from faraway peers due to random peer selection mechanisms, undesired traffic that ignores regional characteristics of the underlying networks may occur. On the other hand, software defined network (SDN) technology has also become popular in recent years. The SDN enables to easily construct virtual networks that can adapt to the communication characteristics of applications. This paper proposes a P2P routing method by using the virtual network technology to localize P2PTV traffic interaction. We show through the quantitative evaluations that the proposed method realizes an efficient P2P routing with considering P2PTV traffic localization.
