Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) This report describes the performance evaluation of multi-user MIMO (MU-MIMO) transmission which improves the transmission rate when considering the small number of terminal antennas. First, the basic concept of MU-MIMO is explained and Block Diagonalization (BD) algorithm, which has the practical calculation complexity in MU-MIMO broadcast channel, is explained. Then, the method to obtain channel state information (CSI) for the MU-MIMO transmission is described. Moreover, we explain the CSI feedback scheme from the terminal station to base station gives a very large overhead and an implicit beamforming method as the countermeasure is introduced. Finally, the throughput performance by the MU-MIMO transmission with and without CSI feedback when considering Medium Access Control (MAC) efficiency.
