Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) Subjective quality assessment tests were conducted to investigate the effects of quality range of assessment videos in order to develop a method to assess 4K ultra HD. With 4K video, the quality of the encoded videos may be close to that of the reference video, depending on the encoding rate. Therefore, there is concern that participants who have limited experience in assessment tests will not be able to make a stable assessment of the difference in quality between the reference video and the assessment video. We conducted two subjective quality assessment tests using high-quality assessment videos that were close in quality to the 4K reference videos and using assessment videos that ranged in quality from low to high. The results showed that the differences of rage in quality of assessment videos did not affect the subjective quality assessment results when the DSCQS method was used.
