Abstract(in English) | In this study, we investigated a mechanism of scene recognition. In Experiment 1, we used the modified procedure of Waller et al. (2009) to replicate their result. After participants learned scenes from multiple viewpoints, a novel view was recognized faster than trained views, which was called View Combination Effect. In Experiment 2, degrees of trained views were varied between participants group, and we examined validity of application of Edelman (1999)'s model to scene recognition, which supposed that recognition was established by summation of previously stored views. In Experiment 3, we applied bisection task to scene recognition, and showed that View Combination Effect was occurred during the process of recognition, but not in the task that required participants to detect perceptual change in scenes. |
