Image Super-Resolution based on Shock Filter

Abstract(in English) In this paper, we propose an image super-resolution method based on the shock filter for high frequency components. Compared with interpolation, super-resolution should produce high resolution images via correctly generating their missing high frequency components. The proposed method only applies the shock filter to high frequency components of images enlarged by the interpolation method. Thus, since the proposed method effectively enhances the sharpness of edges and avoids the over enhancement of texture and smooth regions, it shows natural high resolution images. In simulations, the proposed method objectively and perceptually shows better results than bicubic and conventional shock filter one.
