Development of Contact Lens for Eye Movement Measurement with Retroreflection Markers

Abstract(in English) We propose an eye movement measurement method based on image based observations using contact lens devices with optical markers. In the proposed method, retroreflection markers are built on contact lens type devices. The markers are illuminated from the same direction with a video camera for observations, and marker positions are determined in the camera images. Eye movement is estimated from the marker positions. Due to the property of retroreflection, the marker positions can be easily detected. In this paper, we address the details of the proposed method and we also describe a sample implementation of retroreflection markers on PDMS (poly-dimethylsiloxane) which is the material used for commercial contact lens devices.
