Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) In this paper, we propose a new method of contrast improvement for wide-dynamic-range image sensor using variable integration time. At an intermediate time, we create an I/O characteristics by estimating the luminance of an image. Then, for contrast improvement, the surrounding brightness of each pixel is calculated by smoothing the image. When the surrounding brightness is brighter than the value of a pixel, its integration time is shifted toward shorter. In this paper, we explain the proposed method and show the subjective assessment by a computational simulation based on the proposed method.
