Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) Orthogonal frequency-division multiplexing (OFDM) system has high bandwidth efficiency as well as robustness against multipath fading. However, it is well known that the high peak-to-average power ratio (PAPR) of the OFDM signal considerably degrades power amplifier efficiency. Trellis shaping (TS) is one of the PAPR reduction methods, and in this paper, we propose a novel approach that uses clipping and filtering (CAF) for the metric calculation in TS. Moreover, we introduce a new approach that can embed selected mapping (SLM) into TS by utilizing the property of convolutional codes. Unlike the conventional SLM, the proposed system does not require the any side information. We demonstrate that the proposed approach can achieve better PAPR reduction capability than the conventional TS.
