Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) This paper presents a new methodology of the OTA assessment for 2-dimensional arrangement MIMO array antennas. We have studied the minimum number of scatterers required for conducting a 3-dimensional OTA in a practical apparatus. Particular emphasis is placed on how well handset MIMO antennas with a 2D-structure are characterized using the limited number of scatterers implemented in a fading emulator. The results show the condition that a 3D-OTA with the prescribed parameters allows the correlation to be reduced, which permits the channel capacity to increase as the same way that many scatterers are distributed over the whole solid angle.
