Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) Recently, very large MEMO (or massive MIMO) system has been studied as the future broadband multiuser-MIMO system. This technology utilizes sharp main beam by simple beamforming which realizes low signal processing burden. However, we may sometimes locate these many antenna elements in a limited space, so that we cannot often ignore mutual coupling effect. In this report, we consider calibration performance of the simple array calibration technique derived by the array equivalent circuits for the large array both computer simulation and experiments. The simulation results show that the main beam can be properly shaped and steered with and without the calibration. However DOA and depth of the nulls are biased and degraded without the calibration, and they can be well improved by the simple calibration. These results are also verified by the experiments.
