Abstract(in English) We are studying a 3D modeling system using a sensor network that distributes many tiny sensor nodes in a flexible object like clay. This system estimates three dimensional relative positions of sensor nodes from node-to-node distance information and recognizes the object shape. This node localization is difficult since measured node-to-node distance information includes large measurement error and many nodes need to be localized. This paper applies a sequential localization method taking into account localization ambiguity to the 3D modeling system, and evaluates the localization accuracy. Supposing the distance error model of proximity distance estimation with capacitive coupling, we investigate which is more appropriate for node localization, multilateration or maximum likelihood estimation.
