Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) A pseudo satellite, or pseudolite, is a ground transmitter that broadcasts signals as the same frequency and the same format as the navigation satellites broadcasts. It enables us to augment the availableability of satellite navigation. However, a pseudolite would give an excessive power to the receiver close proximity to the pseudolite, and it result in block the GPS satellite signals reception. Therefore, a method of alleviating the near-far problem by reducing transmission power step-by-step has been proposed. In this paper, we focus on pseudolites operating in environments where the visibility for the zenith direction is blocked. Such environments often appear such in a road under an elevated road, and interference of pseudolite signals on GPS satellite signal reception and mutual interference of signals transmitted from the pseudolites are obtained from computer simulation. Results showed an additional pseudolite as an extension of the service area did not interfere the other pseudolites, and numerical result exhibited the pseudolite with step-by-step transmission power reduction increased the coverage in the service area.
