Abstract(in English) In MIMO space division multiplexing (SDM) systems based on transmitter/receiver spatial filtering, when transmitter antenna weights are optimized under total transmit power constraint, there is a possibility that total power of the transmit signal could be concentrated on a specific antenna element. However, when per-antenna transmit power exceed a permissible-transmit power of power amplifiers, it would distort the transmit signal and consequently degrade achievable transmission performance. To prevent signal power from concentrating on a specific transmit antenna when a spatial transmit filtering is applied to SDM systems, we propose a transmitter filter weight optimization technique for MIMO SDM systems under a per-antenna transmit power constraint, where an iterative algorithm is used to limit a per-antenna power below a given threshold. Computer simulation results show that the proposed method is effective in limiting per-antenna transmit power below permissible level while mitigating performance degradation in bit error rate (BER) performance.
