Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) In recent years, the expectation of networks for inter-vehicle communication, the utilization for natural disasters relief etc. have widened the applications of ad hoc networks. When a reliable communication is required under a variety of such a network, TCP is to be used. However, it is well known that the goodput of TCP degrades significantly in ad hoc networks. In ad hoc networks, a route is likely to change because of link breakage by node mobility, and there will be frequent packet collisions in multi-hop wireless communication. This leads to the misjudgment of congestion by TCP, and as the result, there will be inappropriate RTO(timeout) to decrease its goodput. Therefore, we propose early route re-setup and early packet re-transmission, to improve the goodput by avoiding inappropriate RTO. By some simulation experiments, we adjust the parameters of proposed method, and demonstrate the effectiveness of the proposal in suppressing the decrease in the goodput.
