Abstract(in English) | We have been developing a train network system using infrared transceivers, IR system. In the system, handovers occur frequently and cause bursty packet loss. This paper proposes a packet loss reduction mechanism that employs buffering and forwarding packets on intermediate routers. Routers detect handovers by receiving control frames from the infrared transceivers. We implemented the mechanism on Linux and measured lost packets, out-of-order packets, and TCP throughput in a experimental network. |
