Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) This lecture introduces a new type of transceiver architecture, which has flexible functions applied for multi-band and multi-mode operation in future wireless communication systems. In 1990's the concept of software-defined radio has been proposed by Mitola. The reconfigurability of the operating parameters i.e. center frequency, bandwidth and power level in transceivers by only altering software is one of the most important features in the software-defined radio to realize a versatile transceiver. Here we will review research and development works in the field of reconfigurable transceivers, and discuss the future trend of this technology. In addition our work on the design of direct sampling receivers will be introduced in the topic of reconfigurability of several frequency characteristics e. g. image rejection, pass-band widening, etc. with an enhancement of digital assist technology.
