Abstract(in English) In this paper, we consider multi-Gbps millimeter wave wireless LAN systems where shadowing causes serious performance degradation of millimeter-wave transmission. We propose an automatic repeat request (ARQ) scheme for the multiband frequency cooperation wireless system using both millimeter wave band and microwave band to effectively compensate for the shadowing effect. The proposed scheme uses low-power microwave for both the transmission of ACK/NACK signals and the channel estimation, and switches frequency bands for the data transmission based on estimated SNR. Through simulation, we show that the proposed method is robust against shadowing.
