Abstract(in English) | Millimeter wave (60GHz) WLAN has been drawing attention to achieve multi-Gbps ultra-high-speed transmission. However, the propagation loss is large and LOS (Line-of-Sight) is indispensable in millimeter wave band. To overcome these disadvantages of millimeterwave band, multi-band frequency cooperative wireless system utilized in combination with microwave band WLAN has been proposed. For a multi-band mobile terminal application, it is indispensable to introduce power saving techniques, which turn on RF circuit of the frequency in operation and turn off other RF circuits not used for data transmission. Thus, for a multi-band frequency cooperative wireless system using microwave and millimeter wave bands, it is necessary to predict the coverage area of millimeter wave band WLAN by using micro-wave WLAN signals in order to save the spectrum resources of microwave band and promote the utilization of millimeter wave band. This paper describes the diversity techniques to improve service area prediction accuracy of millimeter-wave WLAN by using microwave signals. |
