Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) It is expected that the number of transactions and complexity of transaction processing will increase in the Cloud Computing paradigm. Consequently, we have studied a new approach named 'Enhanced Rollback Migration Protocol (ERMP)' as one of the backward recovery approaches for a compensation transaction. ERMP has features in which the procedure is shortened for quick compensation of transactions due to low dependency on data. These features rely on temporal data management. Because, these will become more popular in the Cloud Computing era, as a huge scale of data management is realized. In this paper, we present the outline of the procedure of ERMP and the results of evaluations carried out in order to identify the effects of ERMP. The extracted results are shown in comparison with the traditional technique, namely Saga, and it can be confirmed that ERMP is faster and more effective with respects to consistency as a long-lived transaction under the usual conditions. This approach potentially has certain advantages for realizing quick compensations for large numbers of transactions arising in Cloud Computing.
