A mathematical model of e-mail networks with reply dynamics

Abstract(in English) In this report, we investigated structural and temporal properties of two e-mail networks. We found that, in the e-mail networks, in- and out-degree distributions and distributions of temporal intervals between sent and received e-mails follow a power law. Then, we proposed two models to reproduce such structural and temporal properties in the e-mail networks. We showed that, in the networks produced by our models, the degree distributions and the temporal interval distributions follow the power law under certain conditions. The result indicates that the dynamics of our model is one of the essential dynamics forming the e-mail networks in the real world.
