Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) The purpose of this study is to develop a system detecting warning sound for a pedestrian. The system applies a IIR band pass filter to an input signal as preprocessing, and then applies a IIR comb filter corresponding to the fundamental frequency of warning sounds. The system obtains the ratio of the mean of the absolute values of the input signal to the output signal of the comb filter, and detects warning sounds by thresholding the ratio. We conducted experiments, in which ambulance sirens corrupted by three kinds of noise samples are inputted to the system. As a result, the proposed system can detect the ambulance sirens with accuracy above of 94% under noisy environments of SNR 10, 0dB, and with accuracy of about 65% under noisy environment of SNR -10dB. However, the system cannot well detect an ambulance siren recorded on the road with accuracy of above 40%.
