Abstract(in English) In recent years, WAN optimization is hot technique to improve transmission speed in file transfer application and interactive application of international cloud service. WAN optimization is able to improve transmission speed using high performance protocols instead of TCP between WAN optimization instances at both ends of network with a long round trip time and high packet loss rate. High performance protocols have variety characteristics, and their effectiveness of improving communication is different each other by characteristics of network and applications. When WAN optimization instances are set only at both ends of Heterogeneous Network containing mobile network, global network and so on for example an access from a mobile PC to a far cloud data center, the effectiveness of improving communication become small because of using only one high performance protocols. So, we propose Distributed WAN Optimization that determines protocols and arranges section of adapting the protocol dynamically among the plural WAN optimization instances set on a route, and evaluate the effectiveness of improving transmission speed.
