Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) In order to cope with load increasing problems at content servers caused by large-volume content delivery, methods of using content caches at nodes and routers have been studied in the related works on Breadcrumbs. In the Breadcrumbs method, content guidance data and content caches are placed on download paths and used when contents are requested. Multiple Breadcrumbs method has been proposed for reducing the content server more than Breadcrumbs method. In this method, nodes can have multiple guidance data for the same content and can use them probabilistically when contents are requested. However, this method tends to increase the network load since the content server and cache nodes are queried at the same time according to multiple guidance data. This paper proposes a modified multiple Breadcrumbs method, where only a promising among content guidance data is used. Our method can reduce the network load as well as reducing the content server load.
