| Abstract(in English) | Usual Japanese-English translation often makes an original part-of-speech into another one. This suggests translation is not just a process changing a word from a source language to a target language. In this paper, translation examples in which disagreement of part-of-speech occurs between the source and the target sentences are manually extracted using a tagged Japanese-English parallel corpus. These examples support the idea that precise semantic analysis of the source language can produce a variety of the target language form. |
