Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) Previously we proposed an all-optical modulation format conversion from DPSK to DQPSK by passive optical processing with a delay interferometer and reported the preliminary experimental demonstration. Flexible employment of modulation format will be a key technology in gateway nodes and in elastic photonic networking. Optical format conversion of optical packets without using optical-to-electric and electric-to-optical conversions is indispensable to suppress power consumption at network nodes. In this report, we propose a complete conversion system including bandwidth control with a FBG filter and confirm the performance by computer simulation.
