Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) It is essential for constructing a transmission system with multicore fiber (MCF) to realize fan-out devices that optically couple each core of the MCF with individual singlecore fibers (SCFs). We have developed bundled fiber type fan-out devices that enable us to achieve the same core-arrangement as an MCF by bundling the SCFs. In this report, we describe an accurate fiber-arrangement of SCFs by employing a ferrule with a hexagonal hole and clarify physical contact conditions for an MCF by using a finite element method simulation, and demonstrate a fan-out device for a 12-core MCF.
