Abstract(in English) We introduce recent results on the investigation and development of cladding-pumped multicore EDFAs reported from various research groups. We represent an applicability to low power consumption and downsizing by utilizing cladding pumping scheme because one multimode pumping LD can excite several Er-doped cores simultaneously.
