Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) OpenFlow switches forward packets to a controller as Packet-In messages if specified by the flow table. If switches receive many packets before the controller set new flow entries by some reasons, such as a host starts to send video streams without any negotiation to the destination and attacks to the network, such packets are also forwarded to the controller. These packets increase the load of switches, the controller and control networks, and prevents packets sent by other hosts from fowarding to the controller, then network control would become unstable. To handle this problem, we propose to record header values for a specified period in Pending Flow Table, and to limit the rate of packets that match with Pending Flow Table. A controller set which headers should be used for recording header values to switches as Pending Flow Rules in advance. Our evaluation shows our proposed method can send Packet-In messages including packets that have distinct values in headers specified by the controller, and our proposed method have low overhead in switches.
