Abstract(in English) In data mining and machine learning, the definition of distance between two data points substantially affects clustering and classification tasks. We previous work by the author proposed a distance metric learning method based on a clustering index with neighbor relation that simultaneously evaluates inter- and intra-clusters. This method requires the number of all pairwise constraints, whereas general distance metric learning methods requires. This study is an attempt to apply this method for facial image clustering.
