An Empirical Performance Evaluation of Radio on Optical OOK System

Abstract(in English) Previous research proposed a configuration of Radio on Fiber (RoF) link that can transfer radio frequency (RF) signal and optical Ethernet OOK signal in one wavelength band, and experimentally revealed trade-off between strong superimposing of RF signal and Bit Error Rate (BER) of OOK signal, however, quality evaluation of RF signal is not sufficient. This paper analyzes the optimum threshold which minimizes the BER of superimposed OOK signal and gives a scheme to design a modulation index. Moreover, the quality of superimposing RF signal is experimentally evaluated.
