Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) We investigated the possibility of constructing polarization interference-type band-pass filters utilizing planar chiral nano-grating (PCNG) and a pair of polarizers, through FDTD (Finite-Difference Time-Domain) simulations. We have so far demonstrated that the PCNG formed in a Si film on a glass substrate exhibited artificial polarization rotation by a proper design of its structural parameters. In this report it will be shown that the band-pass filtering characteristic is available in a near infrared wavelength regime by sandwiching the PCNG with a pair of polarizers. Because the wavelength of operation depends on the in-plane lattice constant of PCNG, multi-patterned PCNGs with different wavelengths can be created on a single substrate by a lithographic technique. Such kind of multi-patterned BPFs can be directly useful as a building block of spectroscopic imaging systems.
