Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) The voltage ranges in which arc is free at breaking contacts was observed. The real contact area decreases with a rapid increase in constriction resistance. This phenomenon is presumed to cause a voltage drop just before contact breaks. Gross calorific value caused by such a voltage drop was calculated. This approach aimed to understand the phenomenon found in the contact area. The result shows heat rapidly generates when voltage increases. The relation with occurrence of such arc discharge is estimated.
