Abstract(in English) The directivity of a parametric loudspeaker is roughly described by the product directivity principle or more accurately estimated by the product directivity models. There are two types of discrepancies observed between experimental directivities and those obtained based on the product directivity principle or models. Firstly, experimental beamwidths of the demodulated wave are wider than those numerically calculated. Secondly, sidelobes of the demodulated wave occur in the simulation, but they are rarely observed in the measurement. An envelope method is suggested in this paper, which can improve the product directivity principle or models in predicting the directivity of a parametric loudspeaker.
