Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) This paper presents comparative study of orthogonal frequency division multiple access (OFDMA) and single-carrier (SC)-FDMA using turbo soft interference canceller (SIC) from the viewpoint of throughput for multiple-input multiple-output (MIMO) spatial division multiplexing (SDM) with 8 transmit/receive antennas. Computer simulation results show that turbo SIC using soft-symbol estimation based on the a posteriori log-likelihood ratio (LLR) at the Max-Log-MAP decoder output achieves better average block error rate (BLER) performance level compared to that based on the extrinsic LLR. We also show that reference signal (RS) multiplexing using cyclic shifts (CSs) of Zadoff-Chu sequence and orthogonal cover (OC) improves average BLER performance level compared to that using only the CSs for 8-antenna MIMO SDM. Moreover, we show that OFDMA achieves the superior throughput performance compared to SC-FDMA with 16QAM and 64QAM schemes when using turbo SIC for 6-by-6 and 8-by-8 MIMO SDM.
