Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) In this paper, we propose a shock filter based on the non-local means algorithm for image super-resolution. The super-resolution methods should correctly estimate the missing high frequency components of enlarged images. The proposed method effectively generates the components via the shock filtering, and efficiently utilizes structural properties of low resolution images and reduces outlier pixels via the non-local means algorithm. In simulations, the proposed method objectively and perceptually shows better results than conventional ones, and perceptually than the state-of-the-art super-resolution method which requires high computational complexities. The proposed method requires low computational complexities, because it can be realized by simple iterative processes.
