Abstract(in English) This paper investigates a system-level performance gain of the proposed downlink codebook structure for 4-by-2 multi-user (MU)-MIMO transmission considering the user mobility, receiver algorithm, and reference signal overhead when assuming a dual-polarized antenna (DPA) configuration at the base station (BS) in the LTE-Advanced downlink. Via the simulation results, it is clarified that the minimum mean square error (MMSE) receiver to suppress the inter-user interference is necessary in order to obtain the stable performance gains of MU-MIMO irrespective of the user mobility. The simulation results show that, the LTE Transmission Mode (TM) 9 applying the proposed codebook improve cell throughput and cell-edge user throughput performances compared with the TM4 using LTE Rel. 8 codebook by approximately 6% and 17%, respectively.
